Uvex Genesis XC Safety Glasses are an economical and convenient protective eyewear solution for workers who wear prescription glasses. These glasses offer all the comfort and adjustment features of our best-selling Genesis product line, with the added benefit of an optional Rx lens insert that can hold prescription lenses. This transforms the Genesis XC model into prescription safety glasses, and if tinted, prescription sunglasses. The glasses can accommodate a wide range of prescription needs, including bifocals, trifocals, and progressive lenses, with a simple screw closure that can fit prescriptions ranging from +3.0 to -3.0 diopters.

The traditional Genesis wraparound design has been extended by approximately 20% to provide extra protection for prescription lenses, offering more than 180° of peripheral coverage. Constructed with Multi-Material Technology (MMT), these safety glasses provide the highest level of impact safety, with military V0 ballistic test protection against impact energies 7 times higher than ANSI requirements for select tints. They are also certified to meet CSA Z94.3 standards.

The lenses are designed to filter 99.9% of UV radiation according to the U6 scale of the Z87 standard, with Spectrum Control Technology (SCT) that absorbs select wavelengths of radiant energy. Anti-glare glasses, tinted safety glasses, and safety sunglasses manipulate light to reduce hazards or provide filtration for specific tasks, such as filtering solar radiation to reduce glare or blocking radiation during welding operations.

Various anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings are available, including the HydroShield technology for superior anti-fog performance, Uvextreme for dual-action performance in hot and humid conditions, and Ultra-Dura for scratch-resistant lenses. The Dura-Streme coating combines the benefits of Uvextreme and Ultra-Dura for three times more life to lenses.
